Cookies and browser storage, briefly
Cookies are small files a site saves in your browser. Similar technologies can hold a little data on your device the same way. Both can be used for essential things, like remembering a setting, or for tracking, like following you from one site to the next. We use them only for the essential kind. We never use any cookie or similar technology for advertising, and we never track you across other websites.
What we store
One thing. When you make a choice in our consent banner, we remember it in your browser so we do not have to ask again on every visit. That choice is your own preference, it stays on your device, and it is not tracking.

We set no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies, and we load no third-party trackers.
Analytics, without cookies
To understand what is working and what is not, we use privacy-friendly analytics that never sets a cookie and cannot identify you. It gives us only aggregate figures, such as which pages get read, so we can make the site better. Because it is cookieless, it leaves nothing on your device. It is on by default, and you can switch it off whenever you like from the consent banner or cookie settings.
Managing your choice
You can review or change your choices at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer, which reopens the preferences panel. You can also clear this site's storage in your browser, and we will simply ask again on your next visit.
If this ever changes
If what we store ever changes, we will update this page and the date at the top, and where a change needs your permission, the banner will ask first.
